Thermal Imaging
Thermal Imaging is the technique of using the heat given off by an object to produce an image of it or locate it. It’s a type of technology that has been used for a broad range of things over the years. It is based on detecting the infrared energy which all objects emitted.
Thermal imaging can be done right along with the home inspection. Call the Legacy office to schedule thermal imaging for your clients: 847-217-5958
What is Thermal Imaging Good For?
Legacy uses thermal imaging as a tool for evaluating a number of things. It can be used to detect water leaks in plumbing systems that may not be visible because they are behind a wall or above a ceiling. It also is used to detect exterior water intrusion from the foundation or the roof. In finished basements that moisture can be behind the wall.
Seeing the Invisible!
Thermal imaging is also used to confirm the operation of the HVAC system in the home. It is also really good at checking to see if heated floors are operating. These are all great benefits of using a thermal imaging camera for a home inspection.
